Thus a patent has been filed with the US Patent office and this product currently carries a “Patent Pending” status. It is not our desire to make anyone’s life difficult, but you must be aware that patent infringement is illegal and there are undesirable consequences for infringement. The patent states that the “concept” of this invention is “the combination of the two magnets having force combined with the dampening effect of a shock absorber to create a soft close action”. Any devices that might be made with changes in appearance or application that employ the “concept” could be considered a patent infringement.
